Automated Ordering Systems

Kendeco Tool Crib recognizes that every company has unique procurement needs. We strive to meet those needs by offering several automated ordering systems. Each system is designed with different technology levels to reduce or eliminate acquisition costs.

You may choose from:

  • Internet Ordering
  • Bar Code Ordering
  • Vending Machines
  • Total Tool Crib Management

All formats offer flexibility and adaptability, allowing you the opportunity to adjust your format as needed. Together, we will determine the most cost effective technology level to meet your needs and objectives.

Internet Ordering

Internet Ordering is a fast and secure way to procure products via the Internet. Repetitive ordering and on-line report capabilities provide Kendeco Tool Crib customers unique advantages.

Orders can be generated by referencing a variety of part numbers including: customer, manufacturer or Kendeco Tool Crib part numbers. Over 100,000 line items are available on-line. As part numbers are entered, line item information comprised of product description, quantity available and pricing will be shown. Items can also be added through electronic search options or by creating order templates of consistently ordered items.

Additional procurement savings can be achieved by using internet ordering in conjunction with bar code capabilities. Other special capabilities are available such as account-code or point-of-use tracking and kitting and spending limit functionality.

On-line reports provide customers the ability to view data on any orders sent to Kendeco Tool Crib, whether sent by phone, fax, electronic format or internet. Companies can view past orders processed, current open orders and ordering history. Ordering history of up to four years can be viewed using a variety of sorting and grouping options. Usage reports can also be downloaded to a local computer in spreadsheet format.

Bar Code System

Bar code ordering allows quick and accurate product ordering. Use of laminated and bar coded Kanban cards provides an ordering prompt, item information and inventory management capability. Item information on each card consists of part number, description, reorder quantity and any other account-specific information desired.

Kanban cards are placed in inventory bins with corresponding products. As products are consumed, cards are pulled and forwarded for ordering. Orders are created by scanning the bar code on each card. Orders are then transmitted electronically to Kendeco Tool Crib either directly from a hand-held scanner or through internet ordering.

Vending Machines

Vending machines are an economical way to control inventory of high-use items. Costs throughout the procurement cycle are reduced by eliminating purchase orders and receiving functions, consigning inventory and consolidating invoices. Products are dispensed by entering an employee number, the job or machine they are working on and selecting a bin. Customers are invoiced weekly for products dispensed during the prior week.

Cost accounting and data availability provide additional long-term benefits to vending systems. Tracking of products against multiple categories enables companies to pin-point their product spending for focused cost reduction activities.

Total Tool Crib Management

Total tool crib management programs allow customers the ability to manage expendable, durable and reworkable inventory. Products are tracked into and out of a tool crib using hand-held scanners. As inventories reach defined minimum levels, orders are automatically generated and transmitted to suppliers.

Software networking e provides real-time information to all necessary personnel. Kitting functionality, preventive maintenance and guage tracking options can provide additional cost and information tracking benefits.
